Vent-A-Hood offers a number of different lighting options to suit your needs. In most hoods, the following lighting options are available, subject to the noted restrictions:

Fluorescent
The bulb is an 18” 15 watt Cool White bulb that fits in a 21” light assembly. You need 21” of additional lip space to add another light assembly to a hood. It is recommended that additional lights be added in longer hoods. Additional lights come on the back side of island hoods. If the standard Cool White bulb is not sufficient, you may specify one of two other types of bulb. The first is the Cool White Plus (P/N P1128), which is a brighter fluorescent, and the second is a Naturalite Plus (P/N P1129), which gives off more of an incandescent hue. One light comes with each single or dual wall mount blower, two lights come with each dual island blower, and four lights come with each cluster blower.

Halogen
The halogen lighting system has become more and more popular since its inception. The number of halogen lights directly corresponds to the width of the hood. See the chart below for more information. The halogens include 50 watt halogen bulbs, switched together on a two step dimmer switch, giving the customer two different choices of light intensity. Vent-A-Hood halogen light hoods are UL listed for damp environments. Halogen lights are available in most standard model hoods with the exception of the Tilt-Out, Under Cabinet Flair, Custom Hoods less than 18” deep at the bottom, and selected remote blower hoods. Certain custom hoods may not accept halogen lights. If you have any questions about halogen lighting, please contact Vent-A-Hood.

Heat Lamps
NOT AVAILABLE IN EURO STYLE HOODS (PWD14, SLD14, EP18, EPX18, NEP18, ISLAND HOODS)

The Warming Lamp Bar (model W-BAR) mounts underneath the blowers, and may be placed in stainless steel and enamel finished hoods that are 18” or higher. The warming lamp assembly is always finished in stainless steel. Two lights per warming bar (bulbs not included). Hood height required for the W-BAR is 18” (will not fit in hoods with lowered deck).

The Warming Light (model WL-1) mounts in the top of the hood, on either side of the blower, and may be placed in stainless steel or enamel finished hoods less than 18” high. The warming lamp housing is always finished in stainless steel. You must have 8” inches of space to install one warming light assembly.
